By Edmund Rhode

More than 80 nurses from different institutions of the George Sub District together with the Harry Comay Hospital held a joint International Nurses Day celebration organised by the HAST CO ORDINATORs, Sr Olivia Prince and Unit Appels together with DENOSA Chairperson of Southern Cape/Karoo region, Edmund Rhode and DDN Linda Geweld.

Held under the theme: ‘Nurses: A Force for Change: Care Effective, Cost Effective,” the event was sponsored by various organisations and OLD MUTUAL in George. ER 24 paramedics entertained the nurses with a range of song items from gospel music to opera. Nurses’ pledge was led by the primary health care manager, Ms Joana Stevenson. Refreshments were served afterwards and nurses had a fantastic afternoon, where their role as key contributor to achieving the country’s health goals was appreciated.
