DENOSA Mpumalanga marches and hands over memorandum to Health MEC over poor conditions

DENOSA Mpumalanga held a provincial march to the office of Health MEC in the province, Gideon Mashego, on 5 October in Nelspruit, demanding corrective measures from government on poor conditions in the province's facilities.
The march was led by Cosatu Deputy General Secretary, Solly Phetoe, Denosa Acting General Secretary, Oscar Phaka, Denosa provincial leadership led by chairperson, Mzwandile Shongwe, and community leaders from across the province, including workers fron different sectors and unions within Cosatu.
The memorandum,  which was handed over to the MEC by Denosa Provincial Secretary, Nhlanhla Dladla, gave the MEC 14 days to reply to it.
The memorandum demanded:
- Speed in the implementation of NHI;
- Establishment of Nursing Directorates and appointment of personnel;
- End to the contemplated Bursary system in nursing education in the province;
- Translation of nurses and backpay of nurses;
- Increase the security personnel in facilities;
Nurses from all regions of the province came in numbers to voice out their concern. They were led by regional leaders of Denosa.
