DENOSA Free State had an Induction Workshop for leaders from the 17th -18th June 2015 which was held at Masselspoort Resort, 20km outside Bloemfontein.

The programme of the workshop covered the following key areas: Overview of DENOSA; Constitution and Operations; Role of leadership/Shop Steward; Working Committees; Bargaining Council and Chambers; DENOSA Strategic Plan; Report Writing; Recruitment/ Benefits; DENOSA Projects, DENOSA Finances; Training and Development and Monitoring and Evaluation of all activities of the Organisation.

Apart from POB’s having to present certain topics, the Provincial Organiser was tasked to give information on how structures function.  Emphasis was put on activities at branch level where visibility, marketing and servicing of members is actually taking place in order to see growth of the organisation. Challenges encountered regarding membership recruitment and retention were also discussed. 

Province also wishes to give acknowledgement for the support, participation and advice received from Cde. Msibi, Second Deputy President of DENOSA and Cde Mahlatsi, COSATU Provincial Secretary who attended this workshop. A word of thank is also given to all the shop stewards who attended and made the event a success.
