DENOSA Gauteng calls on all health workers and health stakeholders to support the call for Minister Motsoaledi to step down.

Press statement

07 June 2018

The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) in Gauteng calls on all workers in the Department of Health, stakeholders in the health sector and the public to support the call for the Minister of Health to step down.

DENOSA Gauteng made this call on the 1st of June 2018 following the minister’s rude and regrettable comments he made against workers who were demanding to be paid their bonuses. We are happy and welcome the call made by our federation COSATU in joining us in calling for this drama king and populist of a minister to step down.

Minister Motsoaledi is one minister that was never affected by the cabinet reshuffles and therefore had plenty of time presiding over our health care system only to reduce himself to a health commentator and a permanent complainant of the structure of our health system who found therapy through convening press conferences and complaining instead of rolling up his sleeves and fix our health system.

We call on the ANC as well to remove this minister because he has dismally failed to deliver on the ANC 2009 manifesto which promised NHI that would improve and deal with the gap of quality health care delivered to the people of South Africa The minister is a theorist only. Our revolution requires cadres who are not theorists only but cadres who can turn theory into practice. The time is now, the revolution can no longer be postponed.

Minister Motsoaledi must fall!
