DENOSA message of support to NEHAWU for the loss of its spokesperson, cde Khaya Xaba

Media statement

Sunday, 13 June 2021

The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) conveys its heartfelt condolences to the NEHAWU family for the loss of its national spokesperson, cde Khaya Xaba, early this morning.

DENOSA pays special tribute to cde Xaba, a tried and tested cadre who communicated the struggles of workers with excellence and diligence.

His departure is a serious blow not only to the NEHAWU family and his family, but to the entire struggle of workers.

The struggle for fair treatment of workers on the shop floor has now become heavier due to the nature of government that many workers are working for, which has become the new oppressor that is hellbent on reversing the gains of workers.

At the time of his departure, he was championing the cause for speedy vaccination programme for both healthcare workers and citizens, the respect for collective agreements especially in the public service, better pays for workers and filling of vacant positions among many others.

DENOSA conveys its heartfelt condolences to his family, the NEHAWU family and all workers.

May His Soul Rest in Peace.
