Health workers picketing at Mahatma Ghandi Hospital

Media Alert

Wednesday, 19 June 2014

Under the coordination of the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA), workers at Mahatma Ghandi Hospital in Durban against the manner in which Performance Management Development System (PMDS) is mishandled by HR department at the institution as well as non-action by the ever-acting and indecisive management.

All workers at the institution are embarking on picketing since today, starting from 06h30 to 07h30 and between 12h00 and 16h00, for as long as a representative from the health department has not come to accept the memorandum from the workers.

There is a scheduled picketing tomorrow at the same times where workers are showing their unhappiness with the poor handling of this remuneration system, which is key to motivating workers at the institution.

Members of the media are invited to attend the pickets at the hospital and report.
