DENOSA proud of one honest nurse from Northdale Hospital in KZN

DENOSA is very proud of one of the colleagues of the noble profession. A staff nurse from Northdale Hospital in KZN, Nonhlanhla Dladla, while going about her duties at her ward discovered a whooping R45 500 from a bedside locker belonging to a deceased patient.

Upon discovering the package, she quickly informed her supervisor and declared the amount. DENOSA is encouraged by this act of honesty by a staff nurse, who may be in great need of money herself. Her integrity characterised that of a nurse that looks after the sick and vulnerable.

She was honoured at the International Nurses Day celebration for her honesty and integrity at an event held Addington Hospital in Durban by MEC of Health in the Province, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo.

This heart-warming event happened at a time when nurses are under extreme pressure due to their working conditions.

Some of the comments from fellow nurses on our Facebook page are the following:

  • Sindi Marele Wow,God bless her and reward her more, thats more than honesty, kulendlala ingaka stay like that my child!
