DENOSA holds Special National Executive Committee at Birchwood

 
DENOSA held its Special National Executive Committee (SNEC) meeting soon after the Strategic Planning Workshop at Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg on Friday 20 February.
 
The meeting discussed urgent matters of organisational interest.
 
The meeting commenced after lunch and would take place until the closure early evening.

The Special NEC deliberated and made decision on the working committees that will report to the NEC. NEC members were deployed to various committees. The deployed members will serve on the following committees, which will do the work of the organisation:

  • Organising Committee
  • Gender Committee
  • International Committee
  • Member Service Committee
  • argaining Committee
  • Finance Committee (to comprise of national and provincial treasurers)

The Special NEC meeting also resolved to fill the vacant positing on an acting basis until further notice. The positions were those of deputy general secretaries for membership service and operations respectively.

The NEC resolved that the deputy general secretary position for membership be filled by current DENOSA Provincial Secretary in Limpopo, Kwena Manamela; and the deputy general secretary position for operations be filled by DENOSA Provincial Secretary in North West, Oscar Phaka.

The meeting also prepared for the upcoming International Council of Nurses (ICN) congress to be held in May in Korea, where 17 DENOSA representatives will attend the conference on behalf of DENOSA.
