DENOSA to convene National Bargaining Committee meeting regarding public sector wage increment

Dear Comrades,

On 1 June 2015, PSCBC convened an urgent special council meeting after the leakage of DPSA Circular 1 of 2015. The circular was talking about implementing 6.4% instead of 7% as agreed by parties in Resolution 2 of 2015. In that meeting, the state chief negotiators informed us that the 6.4% had already been loaded to the system and ready for implementation.

Subsequently, the meeting resolved that the 6.4% implementation must be put on hold until there is a legal opinion about clause 3.6 of Resolution 1 of 2012. However, it is wildly reported that the 6.4% has not been reversed. The chief negotiators of the state also confirmed that there is no directive from their principals that intends to reverse the implementation of 6.4%.

At this juncture, it is crystal clear that the state will forge forward in implementing the 6.4% despite our objection. DENOSA will convene a national bargaining committee meeting to deal with this thorny issue and the feedback will be given accordingly.

I Thank You!!!

Khaya Sodidi, DENOSA Chief Negotiator
