Public Sector Salary adjustment for April in line with current wage agreement

Dear DENOSA member.

Please be reminded that, in line with the current three-year wage agreement between workers and the employer in the public sector which will end on 31 March 2018, the salary adjustment that all government workers will get from 1 April 2017 will be Consumer Price Inflation (CPI) plus 1 percent.

This three year deal was signed in 2015. It comes to an end on 31 March 2018. During the course of this year, organized labour will start the process of collecting mandates from their members in preparation for the wage negotiations with government, which will commence sometime after the second half of this year.

The CPIX for the year from April 2016 to March 2017 will be determined by calculating the average of all the monthly CPI rates.

DENOSA encourages its members to ensure that they are part of this process fully when it comes at their institution.
