Nurses commemorate International Nurses Day at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital

Department of Health in Gauteng commemorated International Nurses Day at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital on 09 june.

 

DENOSA President Simon Hlungwani was amongst the invited dignitaries who delivered a speech on behalf of International Council of Nurses ( ICN). 

 

“Nurses have a role to play towards developing the profession in the country. Health is not expenditure but an investment, thus the Department must employ more nurses.

 

“The future of our nurses is in our youth. So we have a duty to train, inspire and nurture them," said Simon Hlungwani.

 

100 of nurses gathered at the institution. They also marched around the institution, highlighting their plight.
