DENOSA Northern Cape organizer laid to rest

DENOSA leaders and members alike from across the country laid DENOSA Northern Cape Provincial Organiser, Tebogo ‘Thiza’ Koikanyang, at Mothibistad in Kuruman on Saturday.

More than three thousands mourners from across the province as well as members from other provinces descended on Mothibistad to pay their last respect to the cadre who was known for his humbleness and loyalty to member servicing. He was described as the most respectful comrade within the tripartite alliance circles, as he was active in COSATU, SACP, ANC and SANCO.

Leaders from different corners testified about Tebogo’s selflessness and dedication to the cause of nurses and workers whenever he was called. ANC leader in the John Taolo Gaetsewe region and mayor of Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality, Neo Masegela, urged DENOSA and the ANC in the region and province to take over from where Tebogo had left off. “He was always ready to be sent wherever the movement was sending him. As the volunteer, he was always ready to take part in the programmes of the movement; he was there when we took part in programmes to clean our community. He did all that without expecting material benefit.”

DENOSA 2nd Deputy President urged the ANC to better the working conditions of nurses in the province. She said Tebogo was there at all the ranks of the organisation from being a shop steward to being a provincial chairperson until he was employed as the provincial organizer in 2012.
