DENOSA KwaZulu-Natal's 8th Provincial Congress kicked off at Protea Hotel in Durban on 16 January.
More than 128 voting delegates from the province's eight regions graced the congress with their presence.
Upbeat about the prospects of what will be a fruitful three-day congress at the time when nurses face many challenges in the workplace, the congress got off to a smooth start with both credentials, the agenda as well as the minutes of the previous congress getting adopted on first day.
On day two, DENOSA President, Simon Hlungwani, representatives from the Department of Health, alliance partners and South African Nursing Council (SANC) are expected to address the congress.
Election of the leaders to lead in the new term will also take place.
