DENOSA KZN RESPONSE TO PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL STATEMENT ON EXTENSION OF CONTRACTS OF 10321 HEALTH CARE WORKERS BY PREMIER SIHLE ZIKALALA.

The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) in KwaZulu-Natal would like to appreciate the decision taken by the PEC led by the Premier to extend these contracts for another 6 months to continue to fight against Covid 19, given the fact that the 3rd wave is looming and there is still vast project of vaccination.
DENOSA takes this opportunity to thank the department in acknowledging the need of staff during this period where there are gross shortages of staff.
DENOSA believes this move will give the department time to source additional funding to place these healthcare workers on permanent employment.
DENOSA urge treasury to come on board and assist the department in placing these workers on permanent employment since they are greatly needed.
DENOSA believe that this move will assist to alleviate stress on its members caused by shortage of staff.
