The Southern Africa Network of Nurses and Midwives (SANNAM), a regional nursing and midwifery structure in the SADC region, is holding its meeting at the DENOSA Head Offices in Pretoria on Saturday 9 November, where it is discussing the strenghtening of the nursing and midwifery voices in the SADC region on matters related to health.
The Network will also established a structure that will lead the network’s work in the region. Joining the Network in its meeting are COSATU’s International Relations representative, Bongani Masuku; former DENOSA General Secretary, Thembeka Gwagwa; former Director of SANNAM, Dr Philemon Ngomu; and PSI – Public Services International Southern Africa Sub-Regional Secretary, Tichaona Fambisa.
Present are National Nursing Associations (NNAs) from the SADC community. Representing South Africa from DENOSA are President Simon Hlungwani, and General Secretary, Kwena Manamela.
The meeting will also reflect on both its work and the impact of the nursing and midwifery voices in the region amid a plethora of healthcare challenges.
