BLOEMFONTEIN – DENOSA in Free State will be holding its 9th Provincial Congress between 22 and 24 January 2025 at the Imbelo Safari Lodge outside Bloemfontein, where it will discuss pertinent health and nursing issues in both the province and the country.
Free State Premier, MEC of Health, DENOSA National Office Bearers (NOBs), Director of Nursing from the Provincial Department of Health, COSATU, SACP and ANC will all address the congress on Day One.
Gross staff shortages in the province’s facilities; low intake of student nurses at colleges and universities; non-filling of vacant posts; poor safety and security measures and the attack of nurses are some of the issues that will feature prominently at the congress.
The congress will also elect leadership to lead the province in the new term.
