Celebrating 27 years of uniting nurses

DENOSA has concluded its mandate collection on the current wage offer

Media statement

Monday, 26 July 2021

The Democratic Nursing Organization of South Africa (DENOSA) has concluded its mandate collection process on the current interim wage offer tabled by government on the 23rd July 2021. Our members who are critical front-line workers in the fight against COVID 19 have mandated us to accept the current offer by government albeit that there are still some issues that are unresolved.

The acceptance is mainly based on the tough economic conditions as they have not received an increment for two years while the cost of living has increased drastically. The members have appreciated the fact that at least this is not three-year multi term agreement, and the outstanding issues will be pushed through Council Processes and addressed at the Public Sector Summit (BIRCHWOOD 3)

We must report that all nine provinces have agreed that the interim offer must be accepted to cushion our members while we pursue the outstanding issues like the non-implementation of clause 3.3 of PSCBC resolution 1 of 2018 which is due in the Constitutional court on the 24 August 2021.

A detailed report of the mandate collection outcome will be circulated to all our structures for transparency.
