DENOSA North West holds two-day PEC meeting in Rustenburg.

DENOSA North West is holding its two-day Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) meeting at Orion Hotel in Rustenburg, which commenced on 1 September and currently underway.

Attending the PEC meeting are DENOSA provincial office bearers, regional chairpersons and secretaries as well as provincial chairperson and secretary of DENOSA Student Movement, among others. 

DENOSA President, Simon Hlungwani, is attending the PEC meeting. Also attending the meeting on Day Two is the MEC of Health in the province, Madoda Sambatha, who had just briefed the PEC about the critical nursing issues in the province.

MEC Sambatha briefed the DENOSA PEC about the post-community service nurses and their absorption since the advertisement of the post-community service nursing posts in May this year.

He also briefed the PEC about the progress of the investment towards the revitalization of North West College of Nursing (Mmabatho and Klerksdorp campuses), as well as on the department’s budgeting for the intakes of student nurses at these institutitions.

The MEC also briefed DENOSA about the overall nursing and non-nursing vacancy rates in the province so far. In his briefing to the PEC, the MEC also gave an update on Covid-19 and vaccination in the province.

Just before commencing the business of Day Two, the PEC visited nurses at Job Shimankane Tabane (JST) Hospital in Rustenburg between 08h00 and 10h00 as part of Listening Campaign for its members and to push member-servicing.
